#63. Growing 'Two' Fast

Son of a gun, these two grow fast!  We've heard it for years, but until you actually experience parenting, you don't realize the truth in the phrase, 'the days are long, but the years are short'.  It has been the longest and shortest two years of my life, that is for sure!  The twins officially turned two on July 19.

1-Year Old Twins, July '15

Newborn Twins, July '14

Like last year, we took a few photos in our courtyard.

Here was Clare last year

Here's our beautiful little girl now

Handsome Luke 1 year ago

Here's our boy and his cars (they are inseparable) now

Chasing bubbles in the courtyard (notice the cars!)

Starting to take their own selfies

Clare and Luke both received great reports at their 2-year checkup last week.

Sitting nicely waiting for their 2-year appointment to start

They even showed off their drawing skills for the doctor!

We are thrilled to have such healthy, happy, growing 2-year olds.

Clare grew 5 lbs 13 oz and 5.25 inches in the last year (now 25 lbs 6 oz and 34.25 in)

Luke grew 7 lbs 3 oz and 5 inches in the last year (now 28 lbs 11 oz and 35 in)

The best part of the check up was NO SHOTS this appointment!

There were quite a lot of tears last year

Thankfully, only a lead poisoning test (which they passed with flying colors) this year!!

The twins had a few weeks of birthday celebrations.  Grandma Steffie threw the twins a birthday party on our visit to South Carolina, complete with homemade birthday cakes!

Twin Elmo cakes for the twins!!

Last year, cake eating was pretty barbaric

This year, things were much more 'civilized'!

'Spoiler alert', presents followed!

Grandpa and Grandma Knapp hosted an event during our trip to Eureka.

One eager customer on the right, and one not so happy turning 2-year old on the left

While his sister had her moment, Luke dug right in!

Back in Chicago, we couldn't pass up celebrating the actual day, July 19, with a couple of Sesame Street cupcakes.

Nothing like Grandma Steffie's Elmo cakes, of course!

Luke was the more somber twin this time around taking down Cookie Monster in serious fashion;  Clare was up for this occasion and sported her 'cheesy grin' before taking a bite out of Elmo

These two aren't showing it in this picture, but the next year looks to be even more exciting!

Oh yes, so many exciting things to come (these recently 'appeared' in our bathroom)!!
